Upcoming Events Meeting Hate with Humanity: Life During the Holocaust Sessions from 4:30-7:00 pm September 10, 17, 24 October 7, 16, 24 November 5, 12, 19 December 3, 10, 17 Meeting Hate with Humanity is an after school course for K-12 educators. Through lectures, in-depth study of the Museum's galleries, and testimony from Holocaust survivors, teachers examine the impact of WWII and the Nazi genocide on Jewish lives in the communities of Europe. This course is approved for 3 NYC DOE P-credits. For more information, please call 646.437.4309. Coming of Age Now, Coming of Age During the Holocaust Sunday, January 11, 2009 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm Reservations required
This session provides educator's with training for use of the new Coming of Age Holocaust curriculum for Bar/Bat Mitzvah students. Through the Coming of Age curriculum students learn about someone their own age who survived the Holocaust, deepening their understanding of Jewish identity, community, and responsibility, while also gaining a strong knowledge of the chronology, geography, and vocabulary of the Holocaust.
Training includes a complimentary set of the Coming of Age curriculum, with DVDs. There is no cost to training, but participation is by application only, for teachers working with Bar/Bat Mitzvah aged students. For educators not participating in this training, the cost of the curriculum is $125. For more information, click here.
